Yeah, the main drawback about DaB is that it’s sorta a meme taking what it teaches from other resources (Peter Han, Scott Robertson, etc) and his anatomy courses were so awful he had to delete them so take what he says in the later lessons with a grain of salt, but what he says in the beginning about not grinding the exercises out until you want to kys can easily be applied to almost any drawing exercise/study you do

literally just draw what you want (no matter how embarrassing it is) or try to apply it to something from imagination whether it be shitty sketches to give you a warmup or an actual finished piece

Uncomfortable (admin of DaB) specifically says not to grind out the exercises since they’re meant to be warmups for improving line confidence in the very 1st lesson so I’m not sure how you managed to miss out on that but then again almost everybody ignores that specific part

>>6546 how can i get out of the grind mindset?

hey, I forgot to say this earlier in the threads but please don’t fall into the trap of grinding boxes/DaB/Han line exercises, I’ve seen too many people (both /beg/ and pros, even some daddies here) get stuck in a rut of only drawing those specific things without bothering to apply it or make some artwork for fun so they won’t get burnt out
